Dear parents/carers,

This has been a very challenging and unusual school year and it has ended with Leicester in lockdown again and schools closed. This journey we have all been on since March has been exhausting and all the staff have worked hard to offer the best support and learning opportunities for all our pupils, but we all recognise that this has not been the same as it would be in the normal school-based environment.

I would like to thank you once again for the support that you have shown the school over the past few months and also for the commitment that you have shown to supporting your child’s ongoing learning. Most pupils have shown good levels of engagement with home learning and we have been inspired by how our children have responded to the new process of working at home and by the good progress they have made.

My staff have been very busy planning exciting new lessons and schemes of learning for the next academic year and we will also ensure all children are given strong pastoral support and guidance. Government advice is continuing to be issued and over the summer months we will monitor this carefully. Due to the nature of guidance linked to health and safety, we will write to you with more precise details of our reopening separately.

The first week in September will be spent ensuring all pupils fully understand new policies and systems, these will include ways of moving around the school, interacting with one another and implementing best hygiene routines.

Please note that the school will be fully closed to pupils until the start of next term. We have missed teaching all the pupils in school and we are all looking forward to a very positive start of the term. Despite the local lockdown, I do hope you and your families get some relaxation and holiday time together, and we look forward to working in partnership with you next year.

With very best wishes

Mrs Jakhura

We are blessed with well-equipped classrooms that are resourced to provide an ideal environment in which young minds can achieve to the best of their potential. We are situated on a large site, in the leafy area of Stoneygate, Leicester.  We are ideally located near to the main transport routes into Leicester and are in walking distance of the City centre and the Universities. We are fortunate to have a Pre-school Unit, LIA Gems, that provides a caring and nurturing environment from the age of three months to three years.

For Primary school age children from age three in Nursery to age eleven in Year 6, Leicester Islamic Academy provides a stimulating education that allows children to thrive spiritually and reach their full academic potential.  Children end their LIA school journey in Year 6 with excellent academic skills and an Islamic education based on the Quran and the Sunnah.

Our motto is ‘Excellence Everyday’, this is lived out by our wonderful pupils and our dedicated staff team. Our Mission statement is a clear reflection of our values and ethos.  We have an LIA school vision that is based on every child developing a strong deen and growing up to be a responsible British citizen who gives back to society through hard work and service.
