A Welcome From
Welcome to Key Stage 2 page, where the adventure of learning continues for Years 3 to 6. At our school, we believe in nurturing curious minds and fostering a love for discovery. During this pivotal stage, we focus on further enriching the educational journey of our pupils, fostering creativity, imagination, independence, and reflection in their learning.
Our KS2 comprises two classes per year. Year 3 Adventurers, Year 3 Voyagers, Year 4 Pioneers, Year 4 Initiators, Year 5 Entrepreneurs, Year 5 Designers, Year 6 Trailblazers and Year 6 Groundbreakers.
During these formative years, children explore a wide range of subjects, from exciting adventures in science and exploring stories in English to solving puzzles in mathematics and expressing themselves through the arts.
Our objective is to facilitate a seamless and positive transition from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2. This period is essential in nurturing your child's holistic development while reinforcing foundational skills.
Our dedicated teachers aim to create a supportive and inspiring environment that encourages every child to reach their full potential. With a strong focus on developing both academic skills and personal growth, we provide opportunities for pupils to build confidence, think creatively, and learn how to work and play well with others.
The National Curriculum is delivered through engaging and innovative methods designed to instil a passion for learning and ensure pupils meet the expected age standards.
Comprehensive teacher assessments are conducted from Year 3 to Year 5, with the final Key Stage 2 SATs administered at the conclusion of Year 6. Our goal is to equip each child for a confident and successful progression into Key Stage 3.
We invite you to explore our page to discover more about the enriching activities and educational experiences that make our KS2 journey truly special. Here, every child is encouraged to shine bright and embrace the joy of learning.

Hear from our KS2
From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for taking care of (CHILD) these past two years. She has had a truly brilliant time with you all. I have loved hearing about everything she gets up to and my favourite part is coming in to collect her and seeing how happy she is. We are looking forward to new adventures, but Buttsbury Pre-School will always hold a special place in my heart!

Children develop an astute awareness of their own abilities as they make the most of these marvellous opportunities. They thoroughly enjoy taking part in sensory activities in the garden
