Islamic Studies

At Leicester Islamic Academy, Islamic Studies plays a vital role in nurturing pupils’ spiritual, moral, and social development. Our curriculum connects students to the teachings of Allah ﷻ and His Messenger ﷺ, guiding them to become confident British Muslims who are kind, reflective, and responsible members of society.

Through a carefully structured programme, pupils explore key areas such as ʿAqīdah (beliefs), Fiqh (practices), Sīrah (life of the Prophet ﷺ), Hadith, and Qur’ān. These lessons provide more than just knowledge—they help children develop strong character, critical thinking, leadership skills, and a deep sense of purpose grounded in Islamic values and British principles.

*Key Stage 1 (KS1)*

In KS1, pupils are introduced to:
        •       The Five Pillars of Islam
        •       Stories from the Sīrah
        •       Basic Duʿās and Islamic manners

They also attend regular Qur’ān lessons and begin memorising key Surahs and Duʿās for daily life.

*Key Stage 2 (KS2)*

In KS2, pupils build on these foundations with deeper study of:
        •       Beliefs (ʿAqīdah) and practices (Fiqh)
        •       The life and character of the Prophet ﷺ
        •       Hadith and Qur’ānic verses on moral values

Qur’ān lessons continue to strengthen their recitation and understanding, while Islamic Studies supports them in developing as well-rounded, spiritually aware individuals.
