Assalāmu ʿalaykum wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh
This week, pupils across the school reflected on a powerful hadīth from the Prophet ﷺ about the importance of mercy:
“Allah will not show mercy to the one who does not show mercy to people.”
(Bukhārī)
Our children learned that mercy (raḥmah) is a core value in Islam — and one of the greatest names of Allah is Ar-Raḥmān, The Most Merciful.
In class, children explored:
• How to show kindness and gentleness to siblings, parents, friends, and even animals.
• That mercy includes forgiving others, speaking kindly, and helping those in need.
• The idea that by showing mercy, we open the doors to Allah’s mercy in our own lives.
We encourage families to talk about this beautiful quality at home. Ask your child:
• How can you show mercy this week?
• Why do you think Allah loves the merciful?
May Allah ﷻ make us and our children from among those who are gentle, kind, and merciful in all that we do.
JazākumAllāhu Khayran for your continued partnership.
